Our Puppy Process
1.Questionnaire
We put your name on our list after receiving your completed puppy questionnaire to merely save your spot.
2. Phone Call
We will reach out to schedule a phone conversation once we have a confirmed heat to learn more about each other.
3. The Wait
We will keep you updated of progress of our females breeding, and reach out when we have a confirmed heat when puppies are born!
4. Deposit
If you would like to move forward once the puppies are born, we kindly ask for an $650 non-refundable deposit and the sex of puppy you would like. We do not accept any deposits until the puppies are born. Deposits can be accepted by Apple Pay, certified check, or Venmo. Fees associated with Venmo will be the buyer's responsibility to pay.
7. Final Payment
The remaining balance of $2,000 will be due 3 days prior to your scheduled pick-up date unless paying cash. Final payment can be received by Apple Pay, certified check, or Venmo. Fees associated with Venmo will be the buyer's responsibility to pay.
5. Picking Your Puppy
Our families will not choose their puppy until take home day. Puppy picking is based on the order of inquiries and sex. We do not believe in picking your puppy for you, but we do the best we can in matching each family with the character traits you are seeking. We take daily notes on all puppies from birth; highly-detailed notes start once they begin developing their personalities around 5+ weeks. Each puppy will have a personality description with characters and traits and their puppy aptitude test available for review. We can provide 8 weeks of data and notes, but sometimes the bond with a particular puppy cannot be denied.
6. Health Guarantee
We take every measure to ensure our puppies are healthy and happy when it is time for you to take them home. We provide a 2 year health guarantee which is outlined in our contract. As a part of our process, you will sign a puppy health guarantee.
Born Right In Our Home…
The puppies are born in our home (we assist with delivery), and receive 24-hour care.
Puppies are weighed daily until 6 weeks of age, then we weigh them 3 times a week.
From 3 days old to day 16, we perform Early Neurological Stimulation exercises and Early Scent Introduction.
We begin deworming at 2 weeks old, and so so every two weeks until the time the pups go home.
At 3 weeks of age, we begin the potty training process, by introducing a designated potty area in the whelping pen.
Upon becoming mobile at 3-4 weeks old, they are moved to their quiet, climate-controlled puppy room in our kennel with constant surveillance. With supervision, various novelty items/objects and textures are introduced in their whelping pen
From 4 weeks and on, we followed a detailed puppy curriculum from Empowered Breeder.
At 5-6 weeks of age, we schedule individual Face-times to allow our families “to meet” the puppies and see how their personalities are developing.
At 6 weeks, they go to the vet for their first round of shots and receive a thorough health report card which is provided to you.
At 7 weeks of age, we have two outside testers come to our facility to perform the Volhard’s Puppy Aptitude Test on each puppy.
Between 8-9 weeks of age, the puppies are ready for their wonderful forever homes.
We have a private Facebook group for each litter, so that our families can be involved as much as possible and see how the puppies are being raised in our care. We share weekly headshots, almost daily videos and pictures, as well as, important information to prepare you to welcome a new puppy into your home.
We provide puppies’ AKC limited registration paperwork, three generations of pedigree, shot records, health certificate, future puppy shot schedule, recommended food and vitamins, and more. (We guarantee against any congenital health defects that are discovered during the first two years of the puppy’s life.)
Our goldens are our pets first and foremost. We consider each client an extension of our golden family, and love to keep in touch. We are always available for questions, recommendations, and advice. We love updates and pictures as they grow!
